The scheme aims to support the financial needs of all landholding farmers’ families. It helps them procure various inputs to ensure good crop health and appropriate yields, matching the expected farm income and covering domestic needs.
Key points:
Condition: Subject to certain exclusions.
Purpose: To support landholding farmers’ financial needs.
Usage: Helps procure inputs for crop health and yields.
Benefit: ₹6000/- per year.
Distribution: Central Government transfers the amount directly to eligible farmers’ bank accounts through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).

Total Amount: Rs. 6000 per annum per family
Installments:
Three equal installments
Each installment is Rs. 2000
Frequency:
Every four months
Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi: Eligibility
All landholding farmers’ families.
Families must have cultivable land holdings.
The land holdings must be in the names of the farmers.
Exclusions
The following categories of beneficiaries of higher economic status shall not be eligible for benefit under the scheme:
- Institutional Landholders
- All holders of institutional land.
- Farmer Families
- Families where one or more members belong to the following categories:
- Former and present holders of constitutional posts.
- Former and present Ministers/State Ministers.
- Former and present Members of Lok Sabha/Rajya Sabha/State Legislative Assemblies/State Legislative Councils.
- Former and present Mayors of Municipal Corporations.
- Former and present Chairpersons of District Panchayats.
- Families where one or more members belong to the following categories:
- Government Officers and Employees
- All serving or retired officers and employees of:
- Central/State Government Ministries/Offices/Departments and their field units.
- Central or State Public Sector Enterprises (PSEs).
- Attached offices/Autonomous Institutions under the Government.
- Regular employees of Local Bodies (excluding Multi-Tasking Staff/Class IV/Group D employees).
- All serving or retired officers and employees of:
- Retired Pensioners
- All superannuated/retired pensioners whose monthly pension is Rs. 10,000/- or more (excluding Multi-Tasking Staff/Class IV/Group D employees).
- Income Tax Payers
- All persons who paid income tax in the last assessment year.
- Professionals
- Professionals registered with professional bodies and carrying out their profession by undertaking practices, such as:
- Doctors
- Engineers
- Lawyers
- Chartered Accountants
- Architects
- Professionals registered with professional bodies and carrying out their profession by undertaking practices, such as:
Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi : Online Application Process (Online – via CSCs)
Step 1: Prerequisites for Enrollment
- Aadhaar Card
- Landholding paper
- Savings bank account
Step 2: Registration Details
- VLE fills in farmer registration details:
- State, district, subdistrict block, and village
- Aadhaar number
- Name of the beneficiary
- Category
- Bank details
- Land Registration ID
- Date of birth (as printed on Aadhaar card)
Step 3: Land Details
- VLE fills in land details:
- Survey/ Kahta No.
- Khasra No.
- Area of land (as mentioned in landholding papers)
Step 4: Upload Supporting Documents
- Landholding papers
- Aadhaar card
- Bank passbook
Step 5: Self-Declaration
- Accept and save the application form
Step 6: Payment
- Make payment through CSC ID
Step 7: Check Beneficiary Status
- Use Aadhaar number to check the status of the beneficiary
