The “Mukhyamantri Pragatisheel Pashupalak Protsahan Yojana” is part of the “Nand Baba Milk Mission” aimed at improving the breed of indigenous cows and increasing milk productivity in Uttar Pradesh, the leading state in milk production. This scheme is applicable in all districts of Uttar Pradesh.
Objectives
- Encourage Indigenous Breeds: Promote the rearing of high-quality, productive indigenous cow breeds.
- Motivate Cattle Farmers: Support farmers in breed improvement, better care, quality nutrition, and health protection of cows.
- Increase Farmers’ Income: Boost milk productivity to raise the income of cattle farmers.
- Enhance Milk Availability: Increase per capita milk availability to match the national level.

Cash Awards: ₹10,000 to ₹15,000 per cow for high productivity and improved breeds.
Mukhyamantri Pragatishil Pashupalak Protsahan Yojana Uttar Pradesh: Eligibility
- Residence: Applicant must be a resident of Uttar Pradesh.
- Age: Applicant must be 18 years or older.
- Individual Eligibility: Only individual cattle farmers are eligible; groups, firms, or organizations are not.
- Cattle Breed: Eligible breeds include Gir, Sahiwal, Haryana, Gangatiri, and Tharparkar.
- Limit: Benefits can be availed for a maximum of 2 cows once in the cow’s lifetime.
Mukhyamantri Pragatishil Pashupalak Protsahan Yojana Uttar Pradesh: Offline Application Process
- Download Form: Visit the official website and download the application form (Annexure-2).
- Fill Form: Complete all mandatory fields and attach required documents (self-attested, if necessary).
- Submit Form: Submit the form and documents to the Chief Development Officer or Chief Veterinary Officer.
- Request Receipt: Obtain a receipt or acknowledgment with details such as date, time of submission, and a unique identification number.
Note: Applications must be submitted within 45 days of the cow’s calving date.

Passport-size photo.
Aadhar card.
Certificate and Identification Number (microchips/ear tagging for cow identification).
Copy of Operational Insurance of the Cow.
Bank passbook/canceled cheque.
Full photograph of the applicant with the cow.
Notarized affidavit (stating the cow will not be slaughtered and the incentive has not been previously received for the same cow).
