The “Medical Assistance” scheme was initiated by the Andaman & Nicobar Islands Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board (ANBOCWWB), Department of Labour, Employment & Training, Andaman & Nicobar Administration. This scheme aims to provide medical assistance to registered Building & Other Construction Workers and their dependent family members during hospitalization due to accidents or illnesses.

Medical Assistance Scheme Andaman and Nicobar Islands: Benefits

  1. Daily Medical Assistance:
    • ₹200 per day for the first 5 days of hospitalization.
    • ₹100 per day for subsequent days.
    • Maximum benefit capped at ₹5,000.
  2. Medical Referral to Mainland:
    • ₹1,00,000 provided for cases referred by Government Medical Authorities.
  3. Emergency Treatment in Andaman & Nicobar Islands:
    • ₹1,000 annually for emergency treatment in local hospitals.
    • Requires a referral letter from a competent authority.
  4. Medical Referral Cases to Port Blair:
    • ₹600 per day during the stay in Port Blair.
    • Maximum benefit of ₹15,000.
    • Requires referral remarks from Government Hospital/PHC in outer Islands.

Medical Assistance Scheme Andaman and Nicobar Islands : Eligibility

  1. The beneficiary must reside in the Union Territory of Andaman & Nicobar Islands.
  2. The beneficiary must be involved in building or other construction activities.
  3. The beneficiary must be registered with the A&N Islands Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board.
  4. The beneficiary must maintain an active membership with the Board.
  5. To qualify for medical assistance under the scheme, either the beneficiary or their dependent must be hospitalized due to an accident or illness.

  • Beneficiaries must provide a medical certificate.
  • Beneficiaries must provide a referral letter from the competent authority.

Portal Registration Process:

  1. Visit the online Portal: https://serviceonline.gov.in/login.do
  2. Click on ‘Register’ on the home page and complete all mandatory details.
  3. Submit the form and verify your Email ID & Mobile Number using OTP.
  4. Upon successful validation, your registration is complete.

Registration Process of Construction Workers under A&N Islands Building & Other Construction Workers Welfare Board:

  1. Log in using your registered email ID.
  2. Enter Password & Captcha.
  3. Click ‘Login’ to access your account.
  4. Select ‘Apply for Services’ and then ‘View all Available Services’.
  5. Find ‘Registration of Construction Workers in AN BOCWWB’ and proceed.
  6. Fill in all required details and upload necessary documents.
  7. Preview the form and click ‘Submit’.
  8. Receive a registration ID upon successful submission.

Application Process for Medical Financial Assistance:

  1. Log in with your registered email ID.
  2. Enter Password & Captcha.
  3. Click ‘Login’ to enter your account.
  4. Select ‘Apply for Services’ and then ‘View all Available Services’.
  5. Locate ‘Medical Financial Assistance’ and initiate the application.
  6. Complete all mandatory fields and upload required documents.
  7. Preview the application and click ‘Submit’.

Application Tracking:

  1. Visit the online Portal and log in using your ‘User ID’ & ‘Password’.
  2. Click ‘View Application Status’ on the home page.
  3. Select ‘Track Application Status’.
  4. Enter the Application Reference Number.
  5. Click ‘Get Data’ to view your application status.
