Kanya Sumangala Yojana Uttar Pradesh : The state government is dedicated to women empowerment, exemplified by its decision to implement the “Kanya Sumangala Yojana.” This initiative aims to combat female feticide, achieve gender parity, eradicate child marriage, and enhance the health of girls. Moreover, it seeks to promote education, foster self-reliance among girls, and cultivate positive societal attitudes towards the birth of female children.
Kanya Sumangala Yojana Uttar Pradesh: Benefits
The Kanya Sumangala Yojana applies across six categories, with beneficiary classification and fund distribution as follows:
- First Phase: Rs. 2,000/- lump sum at the birth of a girl child.
- Second Phase: Rs. 1,000/- lump sum after complete vaccination of the girl child up to one year.
- Third Phase: Rs. 2,000/- lump sum after the admission of the girl child in first class.
- Fourth Phase: Rs. 2,000/- lump sum after the admission of the girl child in class VI.
- Fifth Phase: Rs. 3,000/- lump sum after the admission of the girl child in class IX.
- Sixth Phase: Rs. 5,000/- lump sum for girls who have passed class 12th and have taken admission in graduation or diploma courses of 2 years or more duration.
Kanya Sumangala Yojana Uttar Pradesh: Eligibility
- The beneficiary’s family must be residents of Uttar Pradesh and possess a permanent residence certificate.
- Valid documents include Ration Card, Aadhaar Card, Voter ID Card, Electricity Bill, or Telephone Bill.
- The maximum annual family income for eligibility is Rs. 3.00 lakh.
- A maximum of two girls per family can benefit from the scheme.
- Families are limited to a maximum of two children.
- In the case of twins from a second delivery, the benefit extends to the girl child as the third child.
- If a woman has a girl child from the first delivery and twin girls from the second, all three girls qualify for the benefit.
Kanya Sumangala Yojana Uttar Pradesh: Online Application Process
- Visit the official MKSY Women and Child Development Department website.
- Click on the Citizen Service Portal option on the homepage.
- On the new page, select ‘I agree’ under the consent section and click ‘Continue’.
- Fill out the registration form with details such as name, Aadhaar number, mobile number, and OTP verification.
- Upon successful verification, receive a User ID on your registered mobile number.
- Log in to access the registration form for the girl.
- Upload the necessary documents.
- Submit the registration form.

- Admission certificate for class 6th.
- Scanned copy of the Aadhaar card (optional).
At Phase -5
- Latest photo of the girl child.
- Joint photo of the girl child with the applicant.
- Affidavit on prescribed format.
- Admission certificate for class 9th.
- Scanned copy of the Aadhaar card (optional).
At Phase -6
- Latest photo of the girl child.
- Joint photo of the girl child with the applicant.
- Affidavit on prescribed format.
- 10th/12th certificate/mark sheet.
- ID of Institution.
- Admission fee receipt in Degree/Diploma course.
- Scanned copy of the Aadhaar card (optional).
