Dulari Scheme Andaman and Nicobar Islands : The Health Department of the Union Territory of Andaman and Nicobar Islands introduced the “Dulari Scheme” on January 26, 2013. This initiative aims to provide incentives to newborn baby girls and young girls upon passing their VIII, X, and XII standards.
Under the current provisions of the scheme, girls born on or after January 26, 2013 are eligible for benefits including birth incentives. Additionally, girls below 13 years of age who are not registered under the old Planned Family Scheme will also qualify for these benefits.
Dulari Scheme Andaman and Nicobar Islands: Benefits
Under the scheme, the girl child, whose parents are domiciled in the Andaman & Nicobar Islands, is entitled to the following benefits:
- Benefits at Birth:
- Institutional delivery: ₹8,000/-
- Home delivery: ₹5,000/-
- Benefits on passing VIIIth Standard: ₹5,000/-
- Benefits on passing Xth Standard: ₹10,000/-
- Benefits on passing XIIth Standard: ₹10,000/-
- Benefits on getting married at the age of 21 years: ₹5,000/-
- Benefits on getting married after the age of 25 years: (Specify the amount if available)
This scheme provides financial assistance at key stages of the girl child’s life, aiming to support her education and future endeavors.
Dulari Scheme Andaman and Nicobar Islands: Eligibility
Eligibility Criteria:
- The applicant must be a domicile of the Union Territory of Andaman & Nicobar Islands.
- The applicant must be a woman or girl child to avail benefits under the scheme.
- The incentive applies to those born on or after 01.10.2013.
- Girl children aged 0-13 years, born before the implementation of the Dulari Scheme and not covered under the Planned Family Scheme, will receive educational incentives after passing the VIII Standard. The amount will be fixed in the bank and cannot be withdrawn before the girl child attains 18 years of age or as per rules set by the A&N Administration.
Cessation of Benefits:
- Benefits will cease if the parent or beneficiary provides false or concealing statements/certificates.
- No further benefits will be given if the child gets married before the age of 21 years.
- If the girl becomes a school dropout, benefits will only be provided for education.
- In case of the child’s death before attaining the required age for disbursal of the incentive, the Directorate of Health Services (DHS) may order premature closure of the deposit.
