The Andaman & Nicobar Islands Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board (ANBOCWWB), under the Department of Labour, Employment & Training, Andaman & Nicobar Administration, has introduced the “Maternity Benefit” scheme. This scheme provides financial assistance as maternity benefits to female employees who have been registered beneficiaries for at least one year. Additionally, male employees who are registered beneficiaries for the same period are eligible for financial assistance if their wives, aged 19 years or older, are not registered beneficiaries.

Women employees registered as beneficiaries for one year will receive ₹20,000 as maternity benefit during their maternity period. Male employees registered as beneficiaries for one year, whose wives are 19 years or older and not registered beneficiaries, will receive ₹10,000 as maternity benefit.

Maternity Benefit Scheme Andaman and Nicobar Islands: Eligibility

  1. The beneficiary must reside in the Union Territory of Andaman & Nicobar Islands.
  2. The beneficiary should be involved in building and other construction work.
  3. The beneficiary must be registered under the A&N Islands Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board.
  4. The beneficiary should hold an active membership with the Board.
  5. Female employees, registered as beneficiaries for at least one year, are eligible for maternity benefits during their maternity period.
  6. Male employees, registered as beneficiaries for at least one year, whose wives are 19 years or older and not registered beneficiaries, are eligible for maternity benefits.

Maternity Benefit Scheme Andaman and Nicobar Islands: Online Application Process

Portal Registration Process:

  1. Visit the online Portal: https://serviceonline.gov.in/login.do
  2. Click on ‘Register’ on the home page and fill in all mandatory details.
  3. Submit the form and validate your Email ID & Mobile Number using OTP.
  4. Once validated, your registration is complete.

Registration Process of Construction Workers under A&N Islands Building & Other Construction Workers Welfare Board:

  1. Log in using your registered email ID.
  2. Enter Password & Captcha.
  3. Click on ‘Login’.
  4. Access ‘Apply for Services’ and then ‘View all Available Services’.
  5. Find ‘Registration of Construction Workers in AN BOCWWB’ and proceed.
  6. Fill in all mandatory details and upload relevant documents.
  7. Preview the form and click ‘Submit’.
  8. Upon successful registration, receive a registration ID.

Application Process for Maternity Financial Benefit:

  1. Log in using your registered email ID.
  2. Enter Password & Captcha.
  3. Click on ‘Login’.
  4. Access ‘Apply for Services’ and then ‘View all Available Services’.
  5. Find ‘Maternity Financial Benefit’ and click to apply.
  6. Fill in all mandatory details and upload required documents.
  7. Preview the application form and click ‘Submit’.

Application Tracking:

  1. Log in to the online Portal using ‘User ID’ & ‘Password’.
  2. Navigate to ‘View Application Status’ on the home page.
  3. Click on ‘Track Application Status’.
  4. Enter the Application Reference Number and click ‘Get Data’ to check your application status.

  1. The applicant can submit the application form directly or through a contractor to the relevant ANBOCWWB Office.
  2. Required documents should accompany the application:

Documents required for registration under A&N Islands Building & Other Construction Workers Welfare Board:

  1. Passport size photograph
  2. Proof of age
  3. Identity proof
  4. Details of EPF, if any
  5. Proof of address
  6. 90 Days Work Duration Certificate issued by the competent authority
  7. Bank account details
  8. Any other document as required

Documents required for Maternity Benefit Scheme:

  1. Registration ID Card of Worker
  2. Identity proof of worker (e.g., Aadhaar Card)
  3. Latest Subscription Receipt
  4. Address proof
  5. Bank account details of worker/Copy of passbook
  6. Identity proof of wife (if applying for wife)
  7. Proof of age (if applying for wife)
  8. Proof of pregnancy/medical reports or certificate
